Fibromyalgia is an illness of mystery. Although it is a mysterious illness, Fibromyalgia sufferers can experience debilitating pain among other symptoms. Many people used to consider it "Women's Hysteria", however it is very real and can not be cured. Besides some symptoms listed in this article, there are many symptoms that people are unaware of and you will be surprised at all the symptoms that Fibromyalgia can cause.

  • Fibromyalgia is usually diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 50 years of age, but can be seen at any age.

There are many symptoms of Fibromyalgia, common symptoms are:


  • Widespread body aches, including muscles and joints.

  • Chest pains.

  • Stiffness in the morning.

  • Extreme fatigue.

  • Sleep apnea and insomnia.

  • Feeling anxious often.

  • Difficulty concentrating.

  • Depression can also go with Fibromyalgia.

  • Stomach problems.

  • More painful menstrual cramps

  • Blurry vision.

  • Feeling nauseaus and dizzy.

  • Gaining and losing weight.

  • Persistent daily headaches that do not usually go away with pain relievers.

They are the most common major symptoms of Fibromyalgia, but there are other symptoms as well. You may experience all or only some of the following symptoms.


  • You may experience delayed reactions to physical exertion and stressful events. It can take days to weeks after the event.

  • Excessive sweating.

  • Excessive perspiration

  • Strange cravings for chocolate or carbohydrates.

  • Cravings for carbs and chocolate.

  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.

  • Isolation and loneliness.

Fibromyalgia can also mimic other serious disorders, so it is best that you see a physician to rule out any major diseases. Once diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, you may be prescribed certain medications, including Lyrica. But the best treatment, is a healthy diet, exercise, and rest as needed. You may need to seek counseling to aid you with symptoms of depression and how to cope with pain. If you feel you have any of these symptoms, seek the advice of a doctor.
